A studio check-in. From April 22nd - June 22nd
Opening Note:
So… I left Patreon.
To some people that might mean nothing. To others, it might sound like failure. To me, it felt like freedom—a deliberate step away from the path everyone expects creators to follow.
Because the more I thought about it, the more obvious the answer became: why was I sending readers across multiple platforms just to experience my stories? My comics are here. My library is here. My community is here. So why shouldn't the support that helps fund those stories live here too?
Instead of being at the mercy of another platform's shenanigans, I've begun building something more sustainable: a place where readers can discover stories, read them, discuss them, and, if they choose, help keep them alive.
And if I'm going to build it, I intend to make the most of it. 👏🏽👏🏽
The Work:
🚪DON’T COME IN
Daylighters can expect Chapter 5 live! The usual first four pages is available to read. I hope you’re not attached to anyone in specific because shit is really about to go down.
Going forward, however, I'm making a small change to the release schedule. New updates will consist of three pages every Friday instead of four. While it may seem like a tiny adjustment, those extra pages add up quickly over the course of a month, and I'd rather make a sustainable change now than disappear for weeks because I burned myself out. 😭
On the website, I'll also be posting DCI Chapter 3 for free three times a month. That means readers of the Inkglow Library will reach each chapter's conclusion much sooner instead of waiting for Webtoon's split-release schedule.

Progress continues!
I wrapped up another page this week, leaving roughly six more to go before it's complete. It's one of those projects that feels like it takes forever while you're drawing it, but once the finish line comes into view, the momentum really starts to kick in.
I'm excited to finally share this one with Red Room members when it's ready! Seriously, I made it extra pretty and spicy for ya’ll.
🛎️The Barringer Hotel
The Barringer Hotel is still moving forward behind the scenes.
I'm currently finishing Chapter 6 before publishing it to the Inkglow Library, but I accidentally stumbled into Chapter 7 while working, which means I'm already a few pages ahead without even realizing it. Love that, love me for saving future DayDay the extra work.
And let me just say... I cannot wait for you all to witness the drama between Felipa and a certain someone. Some of my favorite character moments are coming sooner than you think!
Running Inkglow Studios by myself means I'm constantly balancing writing, illustrating, editing, website maintenance, YouTube, marketing, and about a dozen other jobs all at once.
Lately I've been focusing less on working longer hours and more on building systems that make creating easier in the long run. The dream is still to one day have a small team helping me bring these stories to life.
Until then though, it's just me. And I'm okay with that.

With Patreon behind me, I've officially moved everything over to The Daylight Union here on my website DayDayDoes!
My goal was never to create another place readers had to keep track of. As Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute once said, "K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, Stupid." And that's exactly what I wanted to do. Looking back, I'm surprised I didn't build this sooner.

This is still only the beginning of The Daylight Union. There will be bumps along the way, things I'll inevitably improve, and features I'd love to add in the future. But for the first time in a long while, it feels like I'm building something that belongs to all of us instead of renting space on someone else's platform.
Looking Ahead:
Right now I want to build buffer pages for both DON’T COME IN and The Barringer Hotel. Volume 1 for both comics is nearly complete and I would like to have the physical book available for both. Once that’s done, it’ll be available for purchase on my website!
